It is often said that the founders ideals are not applicable to today's times. Most of those who claim this have some degree of truth. Today is not 1776. The world no longer lives in social stratifications based on race, we no longer use outhouses nor use candles for artificial light.
However, there is something puzzling about todays times and our modern philosophes. What 1776 symbolizes is not a year in time but rather a philosophy that extends the power of a man to liberate himself from external evils. Our time now, 2010, is not a representation of a time but rather a progression of modern perspectives.
These two different philosophies, although rooted in the former, have created great divides in this country. What I propose here is not a reversal of time, but a reversal of modern thinking.
This blog serves a strange project not for any particular type of audience, but rather an evolution of my own intellect towards this philosophy. While at the same time discovering what that actually means, connecting lessons of liberty, individual freedom and prosperity through peace in modern day. These lessons will reflect our current philosophies and how "1776" can be the answer to our problems.
Its important to realize that through our principle philosophy can we only progress as a nation. Restrictions and government interference (composed of self interested bureaucrats) only hold back the same progression our modern society demands for.
Its is exactly why 1776, in essence liberty, that can bring these solutions and progressions to manifest.
This looks like an excellent start to a blog. A discussion of freedom in the United States can go in many directions. Just because you have not blogged for a few months, don't think you can't come back and pick up where you left off.
